1 dead in Quezon mishap

PLARIDEL, Quezon, Philippines – A tricycle driver was killed when his vehicle collided with a Mitsubishi canter in this town’s Barangay Concepcion on Friday.

Edgardo Magpayo Jr., of Barangay Tanauan died while being taken to a hospital for treatment, according to acting police provincial director Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Ylagan.

Investigation showed Magpayo was driving along the Maharlika Highway when he smashed into the canter, driven by Lerrie Palanca, 29.

Palanca’s vehicle reportedly tried to overtake another vehicle.

Palanca surrendered to the town police after the incident.
