Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - Police and military operatives captured a suspected Abu Sayyaf member during an operation in the coastal village east coast of this city, according to the police Thursday.

Chief Inspector Ricardo Garcia, chief of Police Station 2 in Curuan district, identified the arrested suspect as Hussin Ahaddin, who has a standing warrant of arrest for the case of murder.

Joint police and military teams swooped down on the hideout of Ahaddin in Barangay Muti on Wednesday morning.

Ahaddin had no choice but to surrender after the security forces surrounded his hideout.

Garcia said the suspect will be turned over to the court.
