NPAs burn heavy equipment
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The New People’s Army (NPA) owned up the burning of four heavy equipment owned by a construction company here.
The NPAs torched two backhoes and a payloader of Jameetrix Construction Co. on a diversion road in Barangay Panacan before 8 p.m. Thursday night, according to Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
The rebels also burned a payloader owned by the company at its compound an hour later.
Duterte said the burning could be due to the refusal of the company to pay so-called revolutionary tax from communist insurgents.
