Boy dead after falling to a canal in Apuyao

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines  – An eight year old child was killed Wednesday morning after he slipped to the irrigation canal in barangay Amado, Pudtol town, in Apayao while playing with firecrackers.

Jayboy Carino, a grade two pupil, according to police, together with other children were lighting up firecrackers when the boy slipped and drowned at the deep irrigation canal.

The surface of the irrigation system and canal turned slippery because of drizzles in the town now.

The eight-year-old was found dead not far away from where he slipped,  authorities said.
