Hacked hospital dietician dies

CEBU CITY After more than 20 hours of fighting for her life at the intensive care unit, the chief dietician of Chong Hua Hospital who was hacked with a butchers knife by a subordinate last Tuesday, has died.
Dr. Wyben Briones, the attending physician of 46-year-old Antonia Miaga, declared in the death certificate that she died at about 10:35 a.m. the other day due to severe loss of blood from the hack wounds she had sustained from the sudden attack by food server Nestor Jabonero.
Miaga suffered deep hack wounds in the head, nape and back, and two fingers were severed from her right hand.
Jabonero is detained at the Fuente police station after he surrendered to hospital guard Michael Canasa.
Jaboneros unprovoked attack came while Miaga, who had just finished eating her lunch, was washing her hands at a sink. Freeman News Service
