Arroceros Park operations extended

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has allowed the developer of Arroceros Park to continue its operations.

Estrada, however, said the local government would push trough with its plan to recover the 21,428-square meter property bought by the city school board in 1993 for educational purposes.

Estrada granted the request of Regina Roces Paterno, chairperson of Winner Foundation, to extend the operations of the Forest Park.

Winner’s contract to manage the park expired in 2013.

Last July, the city government ordered Winner to vacate the property within 30 days.
