NCRPO reshuffles 7 officials

MANILA, Philippines - Seven police chiefs in Metro Manila were among those affected by the latest wave of revamps in the National Capital Region Police Office, NCRPO chief Director Oscar Albayalde said yesterday.

He clarified though that the relieved officers were not necessarily involved in illegal activities but merely reassigned to maximize their effectiveness. The reorganization is made either due to the promotion or retirement of officers.

“This is a matter of putting the right man on the job where he can excel and best serve the public,” Albayalde said.

An oversight committee assessment also showed the necessity to designate an officer who is familiar with the structure of the community where he is to be assigned.

Under the new assignments, Senior Superintendents Alexander Santos, Allen Sumeg-ang Ocden and Dante Novicio will head the Taguig, Navotas and Muntinlupa city police offices, respectively, while Lawrence Coop and Dionisio Bartolome will serve as chiefs of the San Juan and Pasay city police offices, respectively.

Senior Superintendents Nicolas Salvador is designated as acting NCRPO Regional Operations and Plans Division chief while Audie Villacin is the officer-in-charge of the Eastern Police District directorial staff.

“It is the policy of the PNP to look into the career advancement of our officers. It is also important to assess where our officers can best perform,” Albayalde said.
