Rob suspect slain in Manila shootout

MANILA, Philippines - A suspected robber was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Tondo, Manila Friday night.

Police identified the slain suspect as Roger Rabina, 32, a barker. His unidentified companion escaped.

According to a report, a team led by Police Officer 3 Nelson delos Reyes was patrolling the area when collector Mark Pantaleon asked for their help, saying he was robbed by two men.

Delos Reyes’ team tried to convince the suspects to surrender, but they reportedly shot at the lawmen, triggering a shootout.

Police recovered from Rabina’s person the money taken from Pantaleon and a handgun.
