Robbers hit online gaming station
MANILA, Philippines - At least four armed men riding tandem in two motorcycles robbed a Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) online gaming station, including some betting customers, yesterday on Congressional Avenue in Quezon City.
Police said, aside from carting away an estimated P100,000 in bets at the gaming cafe, the suspects also divested undetermined cash and valuables from customers before fleeing on their getaway motorcycles with no plate numbers.
Security guard Ernani Bacani, detailed at a Pagcor e-game stall on 136 Congressional Avenue in Barangay Bahay Toro, told investigators that he noticed some persons casing a yet unnamed customer who arrived on board an old Mercedes Benz at around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Bacani said he was about to tell the customer when the suspects, armed with guns, barged in.
He said one of the suspects grabbed his .38 caliber revolver and fired but the gun jammed. The suspect then hit him with the butt of the gun in the head causing him to fall on the floor and proceeded to tie his hands with a rope.
The suspects also ordered those inside to lie face down on the floor then fled after collecting their loot.
The incident is under further investigation and follow-up.
