DOJ dismisses complaint against ‘Daboy’

- Mike Frialde -
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has dismissed the criminal complaint against action star Rudy Fernandez.

In its six-page resolution, the DOJ affirmed the findings of the Pasig City Prosecutor’s office that there is not enough evidence to warrant the filing of grave threats, slight physical injuries and oral defamation against Fernandez.

According to Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, contrary to the allegations of complainant Robert James Stewart, it was unlikely that Fernandez could carry a gun inside a building in Ortigas where he allegedly attacked Stewart.

Stewart claimed Fernandez hit him with the butt of a gun.

Investigation showed that the building has tight security and Fernandez was frisked and inspected before entering the building. A gun would have been surrendered at the security, investigation showed.

Fernandez allegedly attacked Stewart after blaming him for his detention at an airport in Japan in 2005.
