Man held for gun, shabu possession

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a man for possession of two unlicensed guns and shabu at a checkpoint set up by the City Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (CAIDSOTF) Thursday in Zone Alugbati in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.

Seized from Lester Pumar, 31, of Poblacion, Compostela town were a .45 caliber pistol, a .38 caliber revolver, and shabu placed in a medium sized pack, which were all placed in the U-Box of his motorcycle.

He is now detained at the Basak Police station while charges are being readied.

Prior to the incident, a motorcycle driver who failed to stop at a checkpoint was arrested after hitting a policeman.

Arrested was Ricardo Bongo, 43, a resident of barangay Paknaan who hit PO1 Francisco Villaran.

A liquor test showed the man had alcohol in his breath.

Shabu was found in his possession.
