MANILA, Philippines — With President Duterte’s prolonged absence from public view stirring speculations over the true state of his health, long-time aide and now Sen. Bong Go has posted on Facebook photos and videos of the Chief Executive showing him jogging and even riding a motorcycle at the Palace grounds.

Go’s post came amid speculations over the President’s health after he missed his regular televised address last Monday and the one rescheduled for Wednesday as well as his meeting with members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

In his Facebook post, Go also appealed to the public to support the President, especially in this time of pandemic.

“My countrymen, it is sad and difficult to be president in this time. Let us support Tatay Digong, the one who truly loves his fellow Filipinos,” Go wrote in his FB post in Filipino.

Go’s post included an eight-second video showing the President jogging slowly.

The post got 7,500 reactions of like, heart and care after six hours, was shared 352 times and drew almost 700 comments, mostly wishing the President good health.

“Good health always Tatay Digong, don’t pay attention to those who criticize you, we are still here to always support you,” a netizen commented.

Another netizen wrote, “We are lucky because Tatay Digong is there to take care of the whole Philippines. Instead of being insulted, let us all be thankful because President Duterte changed the Philippines. What we should be thankful for is, he never left the people in need... good work Tatay Digong. God bless you, good health (and) always be safe.” – Edith Regalado
