MANILA, Philippines — Maghanda ang publiko sa matinding init sa mga susunod na buwan dahil sa posibleng epekto ng Super El Niño.

Ito ang paghimok ni Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Administrator Nathaniel Servando na maaaring umabot sa 38.7 degrees Celsius ang temperatura hanggang Marso 2027.

“Ang forecast namin ay hanggang March lang. It’s because iyong seasonal forecast namin hanggang six months. But we know, April, May tataas pa ang temperature, actual temperature,” ani Servando.

Sinabi rin ni Servando na kapag isinama ang halumigmig (moisture), maaaring umabot sa 45 hanggang 52 degrees Celsius ang heat index o ang temperaturang nararamdaman ng katawan.

Una nang inutusan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang Department of Health (DOH) na palakasin ang information campaign upang maihanda ang publiko sa posibleng epekto ng matinding init sa kalusugan.

Patuloy na hinihikayat ng pamahalaan ang publiko na maghanda, manatiling alerto at sumunod sa mga paalala ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno laban sa matinding init.
