Sarah Geronimo amazed at performing with SB19

Popstar royalty Sarah Geronimo performed for the first time her new single, Umaaligid, with P-pop kings SB19 at the “Break a Limit” event of Acer Day 2025 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
It was the first time the artists joined together and rendered Umaaligid live onstage since the single was released last July under Sarah’s own label, G-Music, which started in 2021.
“I cannot be at par with the excellence of SB19,” said Sarah. “We share the same passion in music, performing and uplifting the Philippine music industry.”
What inspires Sarah about SB19 is their dedication to the music industry. “I see their hard work and discipline,” Sarah said of the P-pop boy band. “They really amaze me.”
Combining the powerhouse vocals of Sarah and SB19, electrifying choreography and undeniable star power, the performance was an important collaboration for both fan bases.
Performing Umaaligid with SB19 put a lot of pressure on Sarah. “I must admit because they’re really so good, I get amazed and overwhelmed,” she told The Philippine STAR. “Seeing them makes me inspired at the same time.”
Sarah co-wrote Umaaligid with Adam Pondang, Joshua Daniel Nase, Robert Gerongco, Samuel Gerongco and Thyro Alfaro. Sarah also produced the upbeat tune with Alfaro, Radkidz, the Canadian hip-hop duo Kuya Productions and Adam Josh.

Sarah likened the inspiration to her recent endorsement as the brand ambassador of Sun Life Save and Protect, which can help with her financial journey. She even recorded the jingle for the campaign.
“With the right guidance and advice from them, the experts, they will guide us along the way,” said Sarah. “Taking small steps at a time, I chose to have another day as a beautiful one. Even if we have serious issues in life, we need to constantly fight.”
“The campaign targets the 25- to 40-year-old bracket to start investing for their future. At that age, they can really prepare for their future,” Sarah added. “For a minimum of P2,500 monthly, there is a money-back guarantee after 20 years. There are more benefits.”
Sun Life has been in the Philippines for 130 years, a testament to the company’s enduring commitment to be every Filipino’s partner for life and a milestone year for the company.
“It is not just about looking back for Sunlife, but also looking forward,” said Carla Gonzalez-Chong, chief client experience and marketing officer of Sun Life.
“As we aim to innovate and serve Filipinos with purpose and giving them access to a brighter future that they can enjoy with their families. With Sun Life Save and Protect, we make it accessible to every Filipino.”
From being a multi-talented performer who has captured the hearts of Filipinos with her chart-topping hits, Sarah is now inspiring fans in a different way. She now extends her portfolio with insurance and investment products.
“I’ve always known how important it is to be financially secure,” said Sarah. “But when I was younger, I thought saving was the only way to achieve that. It was much later when I realized you shouldn’t put your eggs in just one basket.”
Sarah also dabbles in businesses with her hubby, Matteo Guidicelli, with whom she has been married for five years.
She put up a production house and a music label, effectively integrating her strong creative background with her emerging entrepreneurial pursuits.
Four years back, Sarah and Matteo put up their own company, G Productions, to mount concerts, shows and release records. On their own, they have managed to invest their money in really productive businesses.
“We see a lot of potential in artists,” Sarah said. “Some are really very good, but they lack the needed push. Their talents or capabilities as an artist are not maximized.”
“Even me, when I hear certain music offered to me and I will think of a certain artist who will be more fit to record that song. So, I told my husband, ‘Love, it will be nice that in the future, we can — not manage — also get involved in production, whatever project that is.”
G Productions was started by the couple this pandemic. “We were shooting videos at home on our own,” Matteo shared. “We thought of having a production company, G Productions. We simply laughed. But afterwards, we took it seriously.”
To date, G Productions has been doing projects with Viva, who co-produces Sarah’s music videos and concerts.
Sarah is the president of G Productions. She has creative control in doing what she wants. Every single day, you see her growth as an independent woman who really knows what she wants.
