In a move that marks an exciting new chapter in his career, Sam Concepcion is set to make his debut on GMA Network through the much-anticipated series “Beauty Empire,” produced by GMA 7 in collaboration with VIU Philippines and Creazion Studios.

The series is poised to shake up the primetime landscape with its bold concept, powerhouse cast and high production value.

For the singer-actor, it’s a milestone project — his very first with GMA — and one that he felt strongly compelled to be part of.

Sam shares that while he has received numerous offers for TV roles in the past, it was “Beauty Empire” that finally pulled him in.

“There’s something very fresh and groundbreaking about this show,” he explained. “The script is dynamic, the concept is current and the production team has a very clear and ambitious vision. It’s a perfect match for where I am now, creatively and personally.”

A major factor in Sam’s excitement is his upcoming onscreen collaboration with one of GMA’s most admired actresses, Barbie Forteza. Although the two have never worked together before, Sam has long been aware of Barbie’s talent.

What truly solidified his admiration, he said, was her compelling performance in the hit historical-fantasy series “Maria Clara at Ibarra.” “I was really impressed by her work there,” Sam said. “It showed just how much depth and control she has as an actress. She brought something very real and layered to that role, and I can’t wait to see how we’ll work together in ‘Beauty Empire.’”

Another element that makes the project personally meaningful for Sam is the reunion with director Mark Sikat de La Cruz. The two have collaborated in the past on several ABS-CBN projects, and Sam holds the director in high regard.

“Direk Mark has always been someone I admire. He knows how to bring out the best in his actors. There’s a lot of trust and mutual respect between us, and I’m excited to explore this new story under his direction,” he said.

Set in the glamorous yet highly competitive world of the beauty and lifestyle industry, “Beauty Empire” explores themes of power, ambition, identity and authenticity. It’s a world where appearances are everything, but the real battles are fought behind the scenes. Sam’s character — details still under wraps — is expected to stir drama, romance and a few surprises along the way.

“It’s the kind of role that allows me to stretch, to evolve,” Sam said. “As an actor, I’m always on the lookout for stories that challenge me to think deeper and perform differently. This role is giving me that — and more.”

Joining Sam and Barbie in the ensemble cast are Ruffa Gutierrez, Kyline Alcantara, Gloria Diaz, Choi Bo Min, Chai Fonacier, Isay Alvarez and Sid Lucero.

With the combined creative power of GMA Network, VIU Philippines and CreaZion Studios, “Beauty Empire” is positioned to be a game-changer for local television. The collaboration marks another step towards more ambitious, globally competitive content — something that aligns perfectly with Sam’s own artistic goals.

“This project just feels right,” Sam said. “It’s the right team, the right story and the right time. And the fact that it’s my first series with GMA makes it even more meaningful.”
