Liofer Pinatacan won the viewers’ hearts and votes to be declared the Big Winner of the historic Pinoy Big Brother Connect edition last Sunday.

Amidst the pandemic, Liofer said he is ready to face the outside world, help his parents and inspire people.

“Gusto kong iparating sa lahat na ma-inspire sa storya ng buhay ko. Kung determinado ka, makukuha mo ang pangarap mo. Wala sa pagiging mayaman o mahirap, kailangan determinado ka. Yung gigil,” he shared.

Earning 20.9 percent of the combined text and Kumu votes, the Dong Diskarte of Zamboanga del Sur beat three other housemates to bring home a house and lot from Phirst Park Homes and P1M from Brilliant Skin.

Andrea Abaya is PBB Connect’s second big placer

According to Liofer, he will give half of his winnings to his mother and invest the remaining half in a business.

“Itong opportunity bilang big winner ay laking tulong para mas maiahon ang pamilya ko. Mag-iisip muna ng paraan para matulungan ang pamilya ko,” he said at the media conference after the Pinoy Big Brother Connect @ The Big Night.

Kobie Brown, third big placer

When asked what kind of business he would pursue, Liofer said setting up a bed and breakfast has always been his dream business.

“Gusto ko magtayo ng bed and breakfast. Ito ang pangarap ko. Mahilig ako magluto at may alam ng konti sa bartending,” he said.

On Twitter, ABS-CBN head of entertainment production and Star Magic Laurenti Dyogi congratulated Liofer and revealed a back story about his inclusion in the ninth season of the PBB.

Jie- Ann Armero, fourth big placer

“Congrats Liofer, PBB Connect Big Winner! Now it can be told that Liofer was only a back-up housemate. We decided to bring in Liofer when a supposed housemate did not pass the medical exam. You were destined to win this season,” he tweeted.

Coming in second place was Andrea Abaya of Parañaque with 16.6 percent of the combined votes. She described her journey in the PBB house as a “roller coaster ride of emotions.”

She said, “Ang daming mahihirap na challenges, pero sobrang worth it dahil may nabuo akong pamilya dito kasama ang mga housemate.”

Kobie Brown of Parañaque finished third (3.36 percent), while Jie-Ann Armero of Sarangani landed in fourth place (2.66 percent). Andrea, Kobie, and Jie-Ann Armero won P500,000, P300,000 and P200,000, respectively.

Toni Gonzaga hosts the PBB Big Night.

For three months, 18 Filipinos from different parts of the world stayed together in the PBB house, performed weekly tasks and overcame challenges that imparted valuable lessons, challenged their determination and brought out their best traits.

Pinoy Big Brother Connect is considered a historic, phenomenal and innovative edition as the reality-show returned on TV and online amidst the global pandemic and the shutdown of ABS-CBN’s broadcast operations.

Because of the pandemic, PBB held virtual auditions on the popular streaming app Kumu. It was also the first time the finale was held with a virtual audience. Viewers from Los Angeles, Singapore and other parts of the world joined via KTX.ph and supported their favorite housemates.

Past PBB Big Winners Kim Chiu, Maymay Entrata, Nene Tamayo, Bea Saw, Ruben Gonzaga, Ejay Falcon, Slater Young, Daniel Matsunaga, Jimboy Martin and Yamyam Gucong also graced the finale.

Robi Domingo and Bianca Gonzalez host the ABS-CBN reality show’s finale.

Viewers were treated with an impressive performance by BGYO, the heart-swooning number of the KarJon and KaoRhys love teams, and the reunion of the PBB Connect ex-housemates.

Like other PBB alumni who are now popular Kapamilya stars, the Big Four housemates are open to pursuing a career in showbusiness should the opportunity arise. And if their life stories were to be featured in MMK, they have specific stars in mind to portray them.

Andrea would be happy to have Kathryn Bernardo or Liza Soberano, whom she considers excellent actresses. Kobie identified Edward Barber or Bailey May, a Filipino-British like him, while Jie-Ann wanted PBB alumna Loisa Andalo. For Liofer, it would be Jericho Rosales. He said, “Idol na idol ko iyan. Ang galing na aktor.”

Fans who will miss watching their favorite PBB Connect housemates every night can look forward to seeing them stream on Kumu as over 100 ABS-CBN stars will also stream on Kumu and engage their fans.

Aside from the PBB housemates, the other Kapamilya artists that will spread light and joy to Kumunizens include BGYO, BINI, MNL48 and more artists from Star Magic, Star Hunt, Polaris, Star Music and Rise Artists Studio.
