MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Michelle Dee has won the Miss World Philippines 2019 crown at the coronation night held in Araneta Coliseum last Sunday.

Michelle, daughter of actress and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, also bagged special awards such as Miss Blue Water Spa, Miss Myra E, Miss Best Skin and Miss Bench.

At the question and answer portion, Michelle was asked what invention from the last century she thinks should make a comeback.

“It would probably be polaroid films. I’m an avid lover of art. I love photography and I love the kind of energy and feel that polaroids give me, just being able to lay everything out and go down memory lane is such a different feeling,” she answered.

She will represent the Philippines at the international pageant on December 14 in ExCel, London.

Apart from Michelle, another celebrity, former child star Isabelle de Leon, won as Miss Multinational Philippines 2019.

Other queens who were crowned during the pageant were Kapuso actress Kelley Day for Miss Eco Philippines 2019, Katrina Llegado for Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019, Vanessa Mae Walters for Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2019 and Glyssa Leiann Perez for Miss Tourism Philippines 2019.

Other titleholders include Shannon Christie Kerver as 1st princess and Casie Banks as 2nd princess.
