Fashion show ’49 at Malacañang Park
Malacañang Park, at the other side of Pasig River, was venue of a fashion show on Feb. 16, 1949. The borders of the park swimming pool served as ramp for the models, mostly Manila’s socialites.

It was called a ‘comprehensive assemblage of wardrobe.’ Infants’ and children’s wear, bathing suits for men and women, intimate items, cocktail and European dresses and ternos, which was the highlight of the fashion show mounted by the Girl Scout of the Philippines.
Nena Fabella Pamintuan in ivory-colored terno designed for formal tea affairs, dens or strolls. With matching parasol (Slim). Mrs. Pamintuan is the mother of Patis Tesoro, herself a famous designer.
‘Spring fashions’ it was billed, ‘trends in March-to-June outfits.’
