Pregnant Rochelle Pangilinan gets 'surprise' gifts from Nora Aunor

MANILA, Philippines — Former Sexbomb dancer Rochelle Pangilinan shared on Instagram how legendary actress Nora Aunor surprised her with gifts for her expected baby.

"Having scenes with her is a gift in itself for me this Christmas," Pangilinan said in her Instagram post last week in Filipino. "But she shocked me with surprise gifts, I jokingly told her you gave me a surprise baby shower!" she added.

She announced her pregnancy last August 26 on Instagram. Pangilinan married actor Arthur Solinap in 2017.

Pangilinan and Aunor are part of primetime teleserye "Onanay" on the GMA-7 network.

"She could've given simple Christmas gifts like food or girls things, but she thought of my baby," Pangilinan said on her post. "The feeling of being thought of by the only super star — how I thought of her since I was a child — [but] she thought of me," Pangilinan added.

She said her encounter with the multi-awarded actress is a story she won’t get tired of telling until she has her own grandchildren. She said, “I’m so happy! This is why so many still love her until now.”

Aunor is a multi-awarded actress and singer, recognized both locally and internationally, known for playing iconic leading roles such as Elsa in "Himala" (1982), Flor Contemplacion in "The Flor Contemplacion Story" (1995) and Shaleha in "Thy Womb" (2012). She was called the “grand dame” of Philippine cinema by The Hollywood Reporter in 2015.
