IN PHOTOS: Sexy beauty queens in swimsuit competition of Miss World PH 2015

MANILA, Philippines - Hillarie Parungao followed the footsteps of Valerie Weigmann and Janicel Lubina as she bagged the Best in Swimsuit award at the Miss World Philippines pageant at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City on Sunday night.

The Nueva Vizcaya native won a total of eight special awards during the competition, which eventually helped her best 25 other contestants to win the title.

The 24-year-old beauty queen also won the Best in Long Gown special award.

The swimsuit competition has become an important aspect of Miss World Philippines as three out of the four winners of the special award eventually won the title: Gwendoline Ruais in 2011, Queenierich Rehman in 2012 and Valerie Weigmann in 2014.

Megan Young bested Best in Swimsuit winner Janicel Lubina in Miss World Philippines 2013. However, Janicel won the Bb. Pilipinas-International title this year at the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 pageant.
