Chiz Escudero won't let wife Heart enter politics

MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero said he won’t let his wife Heart Evangelista to enter politics.

“Ayoko siyang tumawid sa politika,” he said in an interview with the ABS-CBN morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” on Tuesday.

“Mabuti ng may Great Wall of China doon, na siya hindi puwede pumasok sa poltilika, ako hindi rin puwede pumasok ng showbiz kahit gusto ko,” he added.

He admitted that this was also stipulated in their prenuptial agreement.

The senator is vying for vice presidency alongside Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares who will run as president in the 2016 elections. They will file their certificate of candidacy on Thursday.

When asked if his wife will accompany him during the campaign period, Escudero said he does not require the GMA-7 actress to join his every campaign.

“Basta sabi ko sa kanya unahin niya ang trabaho niya. Kung may spare time siya, puwede siya sumama sa kampanya,” he said.

Heart is currently busy with GMA-7’s primetime series “Beautiful Strangers” where she stars with Lovi Poe, the sister of Grace Poe.

In previous interviews, Heart said she has no plans of entering politics. - Joyce Jimenez
