Pokwang confirms relationship with American actor Lee O'Brien

MANILA, Philippines - It’s a reel romance that turned real. 

 

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s morning talk show “Kris TV" aired Monday, Pokwang admitted she is in a relationship with American actor Lee O’Brien. 

 

Pokwang and O’Brien played as lovers in the TFC movie “Edsa Woolworth,” which was released in cinemas on January 2015.

 

“Sana ito na nga. Sana ito na,” Pokwang said of her relationship with O’Brien.

 

She also said, “Bukod sa ipinagdarasal ko ngayon, bukod sa syempre mag-thank you ka, e sana ito na nga. Sana ito na, tama na yung ano. Lord, sana ito na po.”

 

The two became a couple in January 20, after O’Brien visited Boracay with the cast and crew of their movie.

 

“Three days after, bumalik ng Manila, so ayun na, nagkasaralinan kaming dalawa. May quality time kami para mag-usap kung, ‘Ano ba talaga tayo? Ano ba talaga?'” Pokwang said. She said O’Brien answered by kissing. 

 

“Mahirap baka mamaya hindi ba mahirap na ako lang yung in love,” Pokwang said, explaining why she initiated the conversation on whether or not she and O’Brien are a couple. 

 

She further shared: “Tapos doon ko nalaman, sinabi niya na alam mo ba first shooting day pa lang mayroon na siyang keme (feelings for me). Sinabi ko, ‘Ano tayo?’ Tapos, hinalikan niya ako, tapos sinabi niya gusto niya ako, masaya siya kapag nakikita niya ako kapag magkasama kami.”

 

 

Pokwang said her relationship with O’Brien already has the approval of her daughter Ria Mae Subong. 

 

The ABS-CBN actress added her beau “realized” recently that he wants to be in a long-term relationship.

 

“Kasi dati yung buhay niya walang direksyon yun e. Alcoholic, tapos ang lakas niya mag-yosi. And then one day daw nagising siya na, ‘Ay teka, hindi na ak bumabata.’ Kaya ngayon, yung buhay niya ngayon, parang ngayon pala lang siya nagsisimulang bumawi,” she explained.

 

Would Pokwang consider moving to the United States, where O’Brien is based?

 

“Siguro, tapos dream din ni Mae na mag-work abroad, pagkatapos niya,” she said.
