Nicholas Sparks separates from wife of 25 years

MANILA, Philippines- Renowned romantic author Nicholas Sparks has separated from his wife of 25 years Cathy.

 

Sparks confirmed the news to People.com on Tuesday. “This is, of course, not a decision we've made lightly. We remain close friends with deep respect for each other and love for our children. For our children's sake, we regard this as a private matter,” he said.

 

The former couple have three sons and twin daughters.

 

The news came as ironic for some since Sparks has been popular for his romance novels like “The Notebook,” which was said published after his marriage with Cathy, “A Walk to Remember” and “Message in a Bottle,” all of which were adapted into movies.

 

In several reports, the author-producer would always say that his wife is his inspiration for his novels.

 

This year, his novel “The Longest Ride” will be hitting the cinemas.
