Carla Abellana admits breakup with Geoff Eigenmann

MANILA, Philippines – Carla Abellana revealed she and Geoff  Eigenmann have broken up after being a couple for almost four years.

 

“I remember I was the first one pa nagsabi na, 'Yes Geoff and I are officially together.' So it's just right, I believe, na ako na rin ang magsabi na we're no longer together,” the Kapuso actress said in an interview with GMA-7's showbiz talk show “Startalk” on Sunday, April 13.

 

The 27-year-old actress said there is no single reason why they broke up, saying “Geoff and I are two different people, and we're too different na there are just so many reasons.”

 

She added, “Mas nagka-clash pa kami kesa nagkakasundo kami. Ang daming reasons and I wish pwede kong i-enumerate isa-isa yun pero hindi na lang. Siyempre, I respect Geoff. I respect myself kahit papaano pa rin.”

 

“Hindi ko na idedetalye kung ano yung mga reasons na yun. There are just too many reasons, pero hindi talaga namin kaya na.”

 

But Carla clarified that a third party was not the reason for their split. Last month, Geoff was linked to  young star Kylie Padilla, his leading lady in the defunct GMA-7 drama “Adarna.” 

 

“Kung meron man kayong nababasa o nababalitaan na nai-involve, wala ho. Ang layo, napakalayo nun sa mga reasons,” Carla explained. “Walang kinalaman ito sa kahit sinong nakatrabaho namin, nakakatrabaho ngayon, o makakatrabaho in the future.”

 

Asked if Carla feels she has given it her all in the relationship, the “My Husband's Lover” star said: “Definitely. Ang dami na naming tries, ang dami na naming chances. We gave it such a push. We really did our best.”

 

“Sa part naman ni Geoff, nakita ko yung effort. Nakita ko yung hard work na he put into the relationship and the willingness to do everything. We really tried our best naman talaga.”

 

Carla and Geoff admitted they are in a relationship in 2010, after first working together in the 2009 local adaptation of the Mexican soap opera "Rosalinda."
