Verizon FiOS TV launches Pinoy movies on demand a la carte

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - International Media Distribution (IMD) and ABS-CBN International announces that Filipino Movies On Demand has been launched on Verizon FiOS TV as an a la carte option.

Verizon already offers The Filipino Channel (TFC) and its companion VOD service to FiOS TV subscribers giving unlimited access to a variety of entertainment choices from ABS-CBN. Starting this month, Filipino movie titles can be ordered on an individual basis through FiOS TV video on demand. Four titles are available each month with two new titles being added each month.

“Filipinos love Tagalog movies as these remind them of home, so we always find ways and means by which we can make worthwhile Filipino films of various genres available for them to view on demand,” said Jun del Rosario, ABS-CBN International marketing head for North America. “We hope that Filipino Movies On Demand will delight Verizon FiOS TV’s Filipino subscribers, whether they are TFC subscribers or not.”

Until April 30, the line-up includes Star Cinema’s Every Breath You Take, starring Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban. The romantic comedy is directed by Mae Cruz.

Also in the lineup for the month is Regal Films’ The Mommy Returns, a family horror-comedy film starring Pokwang, Gabby Concepcion, Ruffa Gutierrez, Jillian Ward, Kiray Celis, Gerald Pesigan, Gloria Diaz and John Lapus. Director is Joel Lamangan.

Two more titles will be available on April 1: Born to Love You starring Angeline Quinto and Coco Martin, and Manila Kingpin, starring Jeorge “ER” Estregan and Carla Abellana.
