Susan Roces topbilled VP Pictures’ Ako’y Ibigin Mo, Dalagang Matapang, billed as ‘the biggest musical show of 1963.’ Susan toots the trombone, while Jose Mari strums the guitar along with co-star Bert Leroy Jr.

Featured in the movie were the nation’s top combos, as bands were then called. The Electromaniacs headed by Jose Mari himself, The Paulettes, and with the special appearance of Manding Claro and The Larkims.

The dalagang matapang is, of course, Miss Roces, the Queen of the ’60s and beyond.     — RKC
