Malou: No boycott of MMFF awards night

Is Star Cinema/ABS-CBN going to boycott the 2010 Metro Manila Filmfest awards night set for Sunday, Dec. 26, at the Meralco Theater?

That’s the rumor caught by Funfare Update yesterday. Ai-Ai delas Alas, who has three gowns specially ordered for the occasion, would have been the host with Kris Aquino but, according to the rumor, they were not permitted by the management only because it was rival network GMA which got the exclusive coverage rights. Ai-Ai and Kris will hopefully still show up but only as presenters.

Asked about it, Star Cinema supervising producer Malou Santos said, “It’s not true. Why would we do that when we have three entries in the filmfest?,” namely Ang Tanging Ina N’yo (Last Na ‘To) starring Ai-Ai, Dalaw starring Kris and the 3D animation RPG: Metanoia (voiced by, among others, Aga Muhlach, Eugene Domingo, Vhong Navarro and Zaijian Jaranilla).

That seems to be the opinion of some people over Cristine Reyes’ Internet outburst against Sarah Geronimo who cracked the really harmless joke to Rayver Cruz that he’s a good dancer that’s why sexy girls are attracted to him. It’s true. But Cristine felt slighted and the only one alluded to and went ballistic in her Twitter account against Sarah, obviously jealous that Sarah went near Rayver during last Sunday’s A.S.A.P. from which Cristine was absent.

Why did Cristine sound as if she owns Rayver? Why was she so violently jealous? Is she so insecure and so uncertain about how Rayver feels (if he does) about her? Did Cristine really admit that she got into the scene while Sarah and Rayver were secretly going steady even if they haven’t admitted it up to now?

Years back, Cristine also got involved in a similar incident when she entertained Dennis Trillo’s flirtation(?) even when Dennis was still going steady with Carlene Aguilar who had just given birth at that time. There’s a pattern, see!

During the shoot for the music video of Christian’s I Remember The Girl, Cristine was, according to an eyewitness, the more aggressive partner who took the initiative of giving Christian a torrid lip service. The two went out on dates four times and if ever there was any budding romance, it was nipped in the bud. Otherwise, added the Funfare DPA, “Kung natuloy sila, baka maging ballistic din si Cristine sa bawat babaing lumapit kay Christian.”

But for sure, Christian does “remember the girl.” Thanks to that kiss.

Incidentally, did you know that a male member of the new ABS-CBN youth-oriented show Shoutout is caught in a tug-of-war between two mestiza co-hosts?

Clue? Both girls used to be on the same soap and happened to be enrolled in the same school. The teen feud involves the girls’ mothers. The lucky guy? Is it you, Sam?

Will the two girls start waging their “war” on their Twitter accounts soon?
