Angelu talks on single parenting

Motherhood becomes Angelu de Leon and Alma Concepcion, celebrity mothers who manage to balance family and career, and who do anything and everything for their children.

Moms is priceless. Rearing their children under the inquisitive noses of media and the public is doubly difficult for Angelu and Alma. Experienced as they are in single mothering, they have valuable tips to share with similar moms. These they will share as celebrity resource persons in the pioneering SMACK (Single Mothers Adventure Camp with kids), to be held on Nov. 1 to 3 at the Taal Lake Yacht Club, Talisay, Batangas. The event is supported by bonding grants from Blue Cross Insurance, Adidas, Pure Foods, Joey @ 92.3, 105.1 Crossover, and The Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Angelu’s and Alma’s lives are open books – how they loved and lost, how they stumbled and fell and rose again. Both are survivors in matters of the heart. Both went through the pains of single motherhood but regret is the last thing on their minds.

"Regret is such a big word for me. I tell myself, sayang that daddy left us so early, and he didn’t get to see how I reared his grandchildren. Sayang also that their fathers cannot witness how the children have grown up well rounded kahit na may kulang," Angelu says.

Alma has no regrets that she bore Cobie. "Cobie is the most beautiful thing that could have ever happened to me. He is my whole world, my everything. How can I ever be sorry for that?"

SMACK offers tandem sailing, an interactive drawing session, LUBID team-building mom and child games, and round table discussions with a clinical psychologist.
