Habal-habal proposal welcomed
EXTREME DIFFERENCE. Commuters are welcoming the proposal to regulate the fare imposed by drivers of habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire). A man who frequently rides them told The EAR the fare is so inconsistent that the difference between two rides of roughly the same distance could sometimes be as high as P50.
He also said one time two drivers vied for his attention and began a bargaining war, with each offer becoming lower and lower. He said he turned them both down for fear of angering the one who would be rejected.
"Nahadlok ko nga basin magdumot unya, naa baya motor…," he said.
