Cops kill 7 alleged drug pushers in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines - At least seven men reported to be drug pushers were killed in separate police operations in Manila and Valenzuela since Wednesday.

Six of the men were shot dead in Manila yesterday, according to reports from Senior Police Officer 4 Glenzor Vallejo and Police Officer 3 Marlon San Pedro.

Frankie Neri, 33, was shot during a drug bust along Moriones street in Tondo shortly before 1 a.m.

A .38 caliber revolver and five sachets of shabu were recovered from the suspect.

Rolando Morales, 43; his brother Restituto, 35, and Marvin Varona, 25, were killed in another operation along Sta. Rita street at around 1:30 a.m.

Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver and 14 sachets of shabu. 

At around 11:45 a.m. yesterday, police officers shot Manuel Pagtakhan, 51, and Raymart Mendoza, 20, during a sting along P. Guevarra street in Sta. Cruz.

Superintendent Arnold Thomas Ibay, station commander, said he and his men brought the suspects to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center but they were declared dead on arrival.

Police officers arrested Teresita Buenviase, 45, during the same operation.

Jayson Cabanayan, 40, was killed in a sting along Deato street in Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela on Wednesday.

The Northern Police District said a certain Police Officer 1 Peliesco was wounded in the operation.

Meanwhile, at least 28 drug suspects were arrested in northern Metro Manila, Pasay and Las Piñas over the past two days.
