CESCA spearheads ‘TikTok’ dance challenge for chess players

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu South Chess Association (CESCA) under the leadership of Dennis Albinto has found a way to provide entertainment to chess players holed up in their homes amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Not by an online tournament but by a “Tiktok” dance challenge that is open to chess players all over the country.

“We are doing this to give another opportunity for chess players to showcase their hidden talents not only on online and over the board games,” said CESCA in a statement.

CESCA wants to show that chess players are not living a boring life and that they are also capable of other talents.

“We are a chess association and we conduct online chess games from time to time,” it added. “But at this point of time, we deviate from that to give chess players another outlet to release their stress and anxiety in this time of pandemic.”

Interested parties have only until June 13 to submit their TikTok videos to CESCA’s Facebook page.

All entries will then be posted publicly on CESCA’s FB page. The entry with the most ‘heart’ reactions will win.

Cash prizes are at stake for the top five winners that will be announced on June 28.  EBV
