Top NCAA teams to see action in PCCL Cebu KO stage

Lemuel P. Maglinte - The Philippine Star

Cebuano fans will get another taste of collegiate basketball action as top teams from Manila will strut their wares in the Southern Islands Championship of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) on November 13-15 at the Cebu Coliseum.

NCAA's San Sebastian College-Recoletos Golden Stags and the National University (NU) Bulldogs, who made a historic trip to the semifinals of the UAAP this season, will test each other's mettle at 4 pm on November 14.

In the opening matches of the three-day knockout battle slated on November 13, the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers will take on the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, right after the 2:30 pm showdown between Visayas champion West Negros University Mustangs of Bacolod City and Mindanao titlist Holy Trinity College Wildcats of General Santos City.

The winners will then slug it out for the right to challenge the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras, who  are automatically seeded to play in the Southern Islands final for being the 2012 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) champion.

The survivor will then proceed into the PCCL Final Four against the UAAP champion Ateneo Blue Eagles, NCAA crown-holder San Beda Red Lions and the champion in the Metro Manila qualifying round that will be determined among SSC-R, NU, and two other teams from the Big City that will be known on Monday yet.

Tickets are priced at P230 for ringside, P180 for stage seats, P130 for lower box and P80 for upper box. For more inquiries, one may call 255-1405.—(FREEMAN)
