Cebu's BJ Pepito among Golden Wheel awardees

CEBU, Philippines - Young Cebuano rider BJ Pepito is among the country's top motocross achievers that will be honored in the 9th Golden Wheel Awards Night today at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City.

This was relayed to The Freeman by BJ's proud mom, Daanbantayan councilor Malou Pepito.

BJ, one of best Pinoy peewee riders, will be feted for his achievements in the national motocross stage particularly under the 65cc class.

The 10-year-old Pepito is undefeated in the local scene, paving the way for him to grab a major award in the MS Motosuit Motocross Series.

The Golden Wheel Awards, a brainchild of RP Motorsports godfather Johnny Tan, has been distinguished as the biggest gathering of motorsports stars and aficionados in the country.

The main highlight of the night is the announcement of this year’s recipient of the prestigious Golden Wheel Driver of the Year plum, which will be selected from among the champions of nine motorsports disciplines.

They are Jean Stefano Marcelo (karting), Audel Sison (drifting), Noel Rivera (slalom), Vincent Floirendo (grand touring), Reynan Jayme (4x4 offroad), Martin Manalo (drag racing), Glenn Aguilar (motocross), Anthony Roman (underbone racing) and Dashi Watanabe (scooters). (FREEMAN)
