-

CEBU, Philippines - Fresh from a triumphant campaign in Dumaguete, the promising Cebuano netters from the SANCASE Developmental Training Pool of Fr. Rey Talaugon sustained their sizzling charge with five of them advancing into the semifinal round of the Bacolod City leg of the Head Penn Age-Group Tennis Circuit at the Noah’s Haven Tennis Club in Homesite Montevista.

Once again, the Siso siblings Niño and Sallydine led Cebu’s forward march. They were joined into the penultimate round by Cheska Tabotabo, Mac-Mac Chan and Fritz Satera.

Niño hammered Jay-R Dominguez, 10-2, to advance in the boys 18-under semis so as his elder sister Sallydine in the girls side following a 10-7 drubbing of Shannen Mae Sombito.

Tabotabo kept her title hunt in the girls 16-under in motion with a 10-4 thrashing of Frances Maris, while Satera and Chan barged into the boys 14-under semis. Satera ousted Ralf Sevilla in dominating fashion, 10-1, while Chan swept the hapless Jhon Vincent Lim, 10-0.

Their comrade Cyril Camporedondo, however, bowed out after dropping a 4-10 decision to RK Abarquez in the boys 18 category. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (THE FREEMAN)
