Tabotabo bags 12-under title in Andrada netfest

CEBU - Cebuano netter Vince Marc Tabotabo kicked off his 2009 campaign with a bang as he posted a convincing victory in the boys 12-under category of the Andrada Cup Age-Group tennis tournament at the Rizal Memorial tennis courts in Manila yesterday.

The 11-year-old Tabotabo, who is sponsored by Cebu Vice Governor Greg Sanchez, stunned seeded no. 2 Joel San Andres in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4 to claim his maiden title of the year.

Tabotabo’s success will surely boost him up as he embarks on another tough challenge in the United States soon.

Tabotabo and his father/coach Titus are set to join a series of tournaments in the US in the next few months.

If plans don’t miscarry, the Tabotabos will leave within the month. They hope to bring more honor and pride not only for Cebu for also for the entire country.
