CEBU, Philippines —  A total of P6.8 million was disbursed to 190 scholars in Mandaue City as livelihood assistance in partnership with the Office of Mandaue Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon with TESDA and KLN Training School.

The beneficiaries for the Bread and Pastry NCII include 140 POP Scholars who also received electric ovens with convection electric mixers, while 50 POP-scholar received the basic Electrical and Installation and Maintenance NC II and received electric drill machines.

Ouano-Dizon said in a statement that she strongly pushed for the release of the said allocation to the education sector through skills training that they can use to increase their income in order to support their family.

“Kini ubos sa atong paningkamot nga ma-gahinan og pondo ang sektor sa edukasyon pinaagi sa mga skills training nga pwede magamit sa ilang tagsa-tagsa ka panginabuhian,” Ouano-Dizon said in a statement.

During the event, she thanked the support of her husband Opao Barangay captain Nixon Jojo Dizon, Board Members Jonkie Ouano, Consolacion Councilor Alfie Ouano.

Meanwhile, Ouano-Dizon has written to Land Transportation Office-7 Regional Director Glen Galario to address the speculations on an alleged endorsement of a new LTO-7 officer made by her.

In her letter, Ouano-Dizon clarified that there was no endorsement made by her office to appoint Francisco “Isko” Ouano to be the regional director of LTO-7.

Isko is a relative of the congresswoman.

“This representation is writing to address the allegation circulated by some quarters that the undersigned had endorsed the appointment of Francisco "Isko" Ouano as Regional Director of LTO-7. I would like to clear up any confusion and misunderstanding on the matter. The records in your good Office will confirm that there was no such endorsement,” read the letter of congresswoman.

She then clarified that such an allegation is false and is merely speculation.

“Let me state officially that I have not endorsed Francisco "Isko" Ouano to the position. Hence, any insinuation to the contrary is entirely false,” she added in her letter dated March 20, 2024, and received at the of Galario on March 21, 2024.(CEBU NEWS)
