Package dumped in Busay causes panic among residents

CEBU, Philippines — A package that was wrapped in a tarpaulin tied with a plastic straw caused panic among residents of Sitio Lower Busay, Barangay Busay, Cebu City yesterday morning, suspecting it was another case of a person dumped in an open area.

When some people noticed the item, they immediately cordoned off the area and called on authorities to verify what was inside the tarpaulin.

When some police personnel arrived at the Malubog Police Community Precinct to open the package, they found out that it was a dead Labrador dog.

Police Major Caesar Acompañado of the Malubog Police Chief Community Precinct said no one saw who dumped the dog’s dead body, but he said that they will track it down.

They did not rule out the possibility that the dog was intentionally wrapped to create fear among the residents, especially since there was a similar incident that occurred in the city of Cebu in the past months.
