CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office-7 has conducted four days of aggressive anti-criminality operations throughout Central Visayas on July 19 to 22, 2023.

According to Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of PRO-7 regional director, Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, said that in the four-day operation they arrested 195 drug suspects and nearly P28 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the police.

In their anti-illegal gambling operations, they also arrested 290 gamblers.

Apart from this, they also arrested 230 wanted persons.

Pelare explained that it is clear that their non-stop and aggressive anti-criminality program is part of their intention to make Region 7 peaceful.

“In fact, according to the record of our regional director, Brigadier General Aberin, we have recorded 6 percent declined crime occurrence this week compared to last week,” said Pelare.

It can be seen that if the operation of the police is fast against all the criminals, the effect of this is that the crime will decrease because they catch the reprobates in the society.

“Perhaps you will wonder why SACLEO continues, that is the reason why because we were able to identify the impact that if the arrests are made, the crime will decrease,” said Pelare. — (FREEMAN)
