Welder nabbed for spreading sex video with ex-gf

CEBU, Philippines — Authorities have arrested a 30-year-old welder for allegedly spreading on social media a sex video with his former girlfriend when she refused to sleep with him again.

The suspect, Erwin Abellanosa, was arrested on Friday, January 8, in an entrapment operation conducted by the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU)-7, Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) and Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

RACU-7 officer-in-charge Artemio Ricabo said the operation stemmed from the complaint of Abellanosa’s former girlfriend, a barangay secretary in a town in southern Cebu.

Ricabo said the victim alleged that Abellanosa, who has a live-in partner and has at least three children, did not want to break up with her.

Abellanosa allegedly demanded for sexual intercourse in exchange for the deletion of their sex videos and lewd photos.

The victim, a mother of three, decided to break up with Abellanosa when her husband wanted to reunite with her.

Ricabo further said that the suspect has already posted a sex video on social media.

“That alone could stand as the reason for the arrest,” he said.

Abellanosa is currently detained at the detention facility of CCPO.

He will be facing multiple charges for violations of Article 286 or Grave Coercion of the Revised Penal Code, Republic Act 9995 or Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 and PA 9262 or Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, all of which are in relation to RA 10175 or Anti-Cybercrime Act of 2012.

Ricabo said this was the second incident this month.

To recall, a 20-year-old man was arrested for the same offense in an entrapment operation conducted by the RACU in Barangay Pajac in Lapu-Lapu City last Friday, January 1.

Ricabo said that those who have the same cases can report to or ask help from RACU.

He also reminded the public to avoid taking pictures and videos while having sex with partners to prevent the same instances from happening. — KQD (FREEMAN)
