MANILA, Philippines - A 41-year-old Japanese was found dead inside his hotel room in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning with a necktie looped around his neck.

Kazumasa Onaka's body was discovered by hotel employees at 9 a.m. inside the bathroom.

Onaka was reportedly in the company of two women when he checked-in at the Dulcena Hotel last August 27, 2013.

Precilla Ochique, front desk in-charge, told police investigators that she called up the guest Sunday night supposedly to ask if he would extend his stay but no one answered the phone inside his room.

He was last seen by hotel personnel at around 8 a.m. last Sunday.

Ochique said she decided to seek the assistance of the other hotel personnel yesterday morning to forcibly open the room occupied by the Japanese.

Hotel personnel found him sitting inside the bathroom with a necktie around his neck and tied to the shower knob.

Lapu-lapu City police investigators rushed to the scene after receiving the alarm from hotel personnel.

Police Senior Inspector Ester Herrero said they found a suicide note believed to have been written by Onaka.

The suicide note states that, "I am really sorry although you were very kind to me but I make you trouble. Please use although it is small."

Police also recovered cellular phones, cash and other personal belongings owned by the Japanese.

Onaka's body was brought to the Cebu Rolling Hills in Mandaue City for autopsy.— (FREEMAN)
