Man hurt in shooting; mechanic hangs self

CEBU, Philippines - A man was injured after he was mauled and shot by a group of at least eight people in Salinas Drive, Lahug yesterday morning.

Nelson Piadopo, 23, resident of Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Apas was with two companions walking along the road waiting for a ride when they were suddenly attacked.

One of the assailants was later arrested in a hot pursuit operation. He was identified as Cleneth Sala. The police seized several marijuana sticks and packs of dried marijuana leaves from him.

The victim came from a drinking session at a resto bar in Lahug.

Meanwhile, a mechanic was found dead inside his house in Barangay Mambaling last Saturday evening.

Rito Alega, 58, was found hanging with a shoelace tied around his neck. – (FREEMAN)
