2 brothers arrested after "robbing" teacher

CEBU, Philippines – Two brothers were arrested at the Minglanilla town market last Monday night after allegedly robbing a teacher in sitio Cayam, barangay Tibir.

PO1 Edwin Camuta said, Pherlin Degracia, 23, who teaches at the Asian College of Technology at the Bulacao campus was on her way home on foot at around past eleven in the evening when motorcycle-riding Mohene and Armenios Villasencio, both of legal age and residents of Poblacion II, Minglanilla accosted her.

An armed Mohene demanded for Degracia's stuff and money which included two 1650 Nokia cellular phones and P1,500.

Degracia went home after the incident, and then decided to go to the market to buy something.

And then she became aware that two "habal-habal" drivers who were in the area were the same men who had robbed her earlier.

Degracia hurriedly went to the police.

A police team headed by PO3 Alfredo Pagaling sprang to action and arrested the brothers at around 11:45, thirty minutes after the alleged robbery.

A case of robbery was filed yesterday against the two men who are now detained at the Minglanilla police station. (FREEMAN)
