Man hacks friend

CEBU, Philippines - A 51-year-old man landed in hospital after he was hacked by his friend following a heated argument while drinking with other friends yesterday noon in sitio Ilog in barangay Opao, Mandaue City.

Alfredo Zambo, 51, of purok Gumamela in barangay Opao, Mandaue City was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital for a hack wound on his head.

His alleged assailant was Alfredo Capula, 58, married, a fisherman, residing in sitio Ilog, in barangay Opao.

According to PO2 Antonio Descartin of the Opao police station both men went swimming in sitio Ilog with other friends. They were also drinking and when they were drunk, an altercation ensued. Capula picked up a bolo and struck his friend.

Their friends immediately sought police assistance. The alleged attacker gave himself up to the police and is being detained at the Opao police station pending the filing of charges against him. (THE FREEMAN)
