Action Star Robin Declares Love for Mariel
CEBU, Philippines - In Entertainment Live last Saturday, Robin Padilla publicly declared his love for one of the program's hosts, Mariel Rodriguez. Robin, whose Moslem wedding with Liezl Sicangco ended in divorce two years ago, said: "Naipangako ko sa sarili ko na hindi na ako siguro uli magmamahal. Siguro, bibigyan ko na lang ng panahon yung mga anak ko, bibigyan ko ng panahon yung co-foundation ko, yung Mindanao, iuukol ko na lang yung buong buhay ko doon... Yun ang akala ko."
He said all of that changed when he met Mariel on "Wowowee" last May when he became a guest host of the show when Willie Revillame went on leave. Mariel was one of the show's mainstays. The two are also together in "Pilipinas Win Na Win," the new noontime program of ABS-CBN.
Robin also admitted that he gave Mariel a diamond ring worth P1.2 million. He explained his gallant gesture, "Napakaespesyal niyan. At naniniwala ako sa saying na 'diamonds are forever... Pero hindi ho ibig sabihin nito na sinagot na ako ni Mariel."
