Sony Mobile ready to take on competition head-on

- Ehda Dagooc -

CEBU, Philippines - Now that Sony takes full control of its mobile technology previously known as Sony Ericsson, newly introduced brand Sony Mobile is ready to take on the fierce competition in today’s generation which is described as “dawn of connected entertainment.”

Combining its total entertainment technology tools, Sony Mobile projects to take the lead in the mobile entertainment market, creating synergy in all its lines of gadgets.

Sony head for mobile division Patrick Larraga said that the brand has a huge potential to take the way ahead in the competition, considering that Sony has been a “house-hold” brand for entertainment technology all over the world.

“There is a lot of opportunities for growth for Sony Philippines’ family. In terms of distribution all the company’s arms are going to synergize in terms of operations and distribution,” he said explaining that Sony Mobile wide array of cellular phone models will be made available and easily accessibility through all Sony distribution centers nationwide, aside from its cellular store partners.

Today, while mobile gadgets are no longer used merely for communication, but for all-in-one technology, specifically for entertainment, Sony Mobile is confident to get ahead over other brands, Larraga said.

For this quarter alone, Sony Mobile is going to introduce at least four new models, packed with features geared towards providing full entertainment capabilities.

Recently, the brand’s flagship smartphone Xperia S was launched in Cebu to satisfy the strong demand for high quality smartphone choices in market, offering a stunning HD experience.

Xperia S is an Android smartphone with a 4.3 inch reality display with mobile Brava engine. It is the first smartphone from the brand’s Xperia NXT Series.

The Experia U and Experia P, along with the new Xperia sola, are set for release in the country over the next two months, Larraga announced.

As a PlayStation-certified device, the Xperia S is in top form for mobile gaming, he said. One can even play fames and share content such as images and videos from the smartphone to a TV, laptop, or tablet.

It is also a NFC-enabled (near field communication) and ships with two Xperia SmartTags. This allows consumers to load pre-set profiles, or tasks for their Xperia smartphone onto a tag, which can be easily personalized.
