iAcademy umaming walang CHED permit

Inamin ng isang top official ng iAcademy, subsidiary ng Systems Technology Institute (STI), na wala itong permit mula sa Commission on Higher Education (CHED) para makapag-offer ng four-year Bachelor Science in Business Management na may specialization sa eManagement.

Sinabi ni Mitch Andaya, iAcademy dean at chief operating officer na hindi nila itinatanggi na wala silang permit, pero gusto nilang linawin na mayroon silang naka-pending na application sa CHED noon pang June 2002. Inaasahan nilang makukuha ang permit bago magbukas ang klase sa darating na Hunyo.

Una rito ay nagbabala si CHED executive director Roger Perez na papatawan ng sanctions ang mga schools na mag-o-offer ng mga kursong walang CHED permit.

Ayon sa CHED, ang iAcademy ay nag-aalok ng BS eManagement course ng walang permit dahilan para magpadala ang CHED ng isang grupo noong March 25, 2003 at alamin ang kakayahan ng iAcademy na mag-offer ng eManagemenet course.

Tinapos ng iCarnegie, isang subsidiary ng Carnegie Mellon University sa US, ang kontrata nito sa iAcademy at nakipag-partnership sa AMA Educational System. Ang dahilan ng termination ay failure to honor business commitments.
