CEBU, Philippines — Giaprobahan sa Cebu City Council ang ordinansa nga nag-amendar sa City Ordinance No. 2386 nga nagtukod sa Garbo Asenso Sumbanan Alyansa (GASA) sa Gugma Board sa dakbayan.

Si Konsehal Renato Osmeña, Jr., chairman sa Committee on Markets sa konseho maoy nag-author niini.

Ang Section 4 sa CO 2386 giamendar aron madugang isip mga sakop sa board ang matag usa ka representante gikan sa Cebu Environmental Sanitation and Enforcement Team (CESET) ug sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Ang board gilangkuban sa City Mayor o sa iyang gitudlo nga representante isip chairperson; executive director nga gitudlo sa mayor; ug Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification and Enhancement (PROBE) team head o iyang awtorisadong representante, chairman sa Committee on Markets; Office of the City Markets head; Cebu City Traffic Operations and Management head; Cebu City Health Department head; ug Cebu City Anti-Mendicancy Office head isip mga miyembro.

Ang ubang mga miyembro naglakip sa duha ka representante gikan sa Informal Traders Federation Association nga i-endorso sa federation ug aprobahan sa mayor; representante gikan sa City Legal Office; presidente sa Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) o ang iyang gitudlo nga representante; ug representante gikan sa Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Segun sa amendatory ordinance, gikonsiderar sa siyudad ang mga street vendors isip importante nga parte sa ekonomiya niini.

“In order to address the nagging concerns of this marginalized sector, and in view of our thrust to attain maximum effectiveness in laying out our plan of actions for the improvement of market operations and administration, it behooves us to capitalize on the expertise of some sectors or agencies whose principal functions are akin to the mandate of GASA,” matud sa ordinansa.
