ScrattleGG (via YouTube): What would be your preferred option for a video camera that can shoot 1080p video at 60fps? I can currently get a NX500 used for $250 but would rather buy the Sony A6000 but can’t find that used so that would cost me $700. Would you get the NX500 for $250 or wait until I can find a used A6000 somewhere? Or would you suggest another camera? I’ll be using the camera for vlogs and closeups of my face with a green screen background... I’d also like to be able to take good pictures, so the viewfinder on the A6000 is rather attractive.

GadgetMatch: You’re definitely looking at the right two cameras. Ultimately, we do think you’d be happier with the Sony A6000. It has the video specs you desire and it’s easier to import the video directly into your favorite editor. The NX500 requires an extra conversion step before the footage can be edited. With regard to still pictures, we think the Sony has a leg up in low light and Autofocus performance, and as you mentioned it has a viewfinder. Although the Sony is more expensive, it is a camera you can grow into and will last for a couple years regardless of what else may come out.

J Dollar (via YouTube) Any thoughts about how the NX500 stacks up against the Sony A6000? I currently have the Samsung NX300 and am looking to upgrade to this or the Sony A6000.

GadgetMatch: Hey there! Have you invested in a lot of Samsung lenses? If not, we recommend the A6000. It’s still a better value and performs better overall. Autofocus is very fast on the A6000, you’ll also get a viewfinder so you can compose shots by looking into the camera. Video-wise, the NX500 has 4K so get the Samsung if you want that, although video on the A6000 is not bad at all either. Sorry we don’t have an A6000 review up, but trust us, that particular Sony camera presents the best value for money.
