Jimmy Alapag reminisces playing career
MANILA, Philippines — Prior to coaching Tanduay-Alab Pilipinas Sunday night, Jimmy Alapag shared in a candid chat with Philstar.com that he is both waxing nostalgic and ecstatic on his return to Mall of Asia Arena.
“A lot of memories there,” the retired Gilas Pilipinas point guard said.
On his ABL team’s opening night, it’s as if every detail of the game was wooing him to check in into the game: The partisan crowd, the same parquet floor and a tight affair between two teams.
Alab was down three points against defending champion Hong Kong Eastern with a couple of ticks left on the game clock.
We asked one of the PBA’s 40 Greatest Players if it gave him flashbacks — like you know, that game at the MOA Arena where he made everyone cry:
