Seven share LGBA derby lead
MANILA, Philippines - Jay Cupcupin’s GRC-A scored three points to lead six others with clean slates in the Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA) seven-stag derby at Pasay City Cockpit.
Val Bertes (BOS Wildbirds), Ed Gonzales (EVG 333), Walter Lacuesta (QCA), Nestor Vendivil (Oliver Chopper 1), Jerome Quilantang King (Jerome Gamefarm Vice LA) and Cito Alberto (JFR Simply Cubanos) also posted three points apiece as they gear for a battle royale in the finals on Aug. 18.
Some 30 other qualifiers with 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 points will also compete in the four-stag finals.
The three-leg series, backed by Sagupaan Complexor 3000, has attracted 197 entries so far, said LGBA president Nick Crisostomo.
For the second leg (seven-stag derby) on Aug. 21, 25, 28 and Sept. 1 and 8, regular stags will be accepted.
